There is a version of every big moment where you could have stayed comfortable instead. For me, that moment was standing backstage at my first in-person conference in Chicago, feeling every instinct in my body pull me toward playing it safe.
In this episode, we talk about the difference between comfort and peace. Comfort feels good in the moment because it asks nothing of you. Peace is what you feel on the other side of doing the hard, uncertain thing anyway. I walk you through what it actually looked like to choose growth in that moment, nerves and all, and what shifted in me once I did.
We also get honest about what growth costs. It is not always exciting or glamorous. Sometimes it is uncomfortable, uncertain, and a little scary right up until you are in it. That discomfort is not a sign you are doing something wrong. It is usually a sign you are doing something that matters.
Along the way, I bring in a bit of ACT, regulation, and behavior analysis, not as clinical concepts but as practical tools. Willingness to feel discomfort while still moving toward what matters to you, a regulated nervous system that lets you access that willingness instead of reacting from fear, and the reminder that action often comes before confidence, not after.
You will walk away with a simple way to check in with yourself the next time you are choosing between comfortable and growth, so you can start recognizing the pull toward staying small before it makes the decision for you.Interested in exploring 1:1 coaching? Schedule a discovery call today.

Routine is one of those things that feels solid until life reminds you it is not. Recently, after traveling to present at a conference in Chicago, I was recovering from anaphylaxis, which meant real rest and real care for my body, and then just a week later I was traveling for a bachelorette party. Between the three, my routine did not just wobble... it fully fell apart.
In this episode, we talk honestly about what happens when your routine gets disrupted for reasons that have nothing to do with discipline or effort. Illness, travel, and life in general will knock you off course sometimes, and that is not a failure. We also talk about the guilt spiral that tends to follow, the voice that says you should be back to normal already, and why that guilt often does more damage than the disruption itself.
We bring ACT, regulation, and behavior analysis into how we actually rebuild. Acceptance of where you are right now, instead of fighting it or arguing with reality. Regulating your body first, especially while it is still recovering, so you are not trying to rebuild from a dysregulated state. And a behavior analytic idea called shaping, where you reinforce small approximations of the routine you want rather than expecting the whole thing back on day one.
You will walk away with a simple approach for rebuilding your routine without the pressure to have it all back together immediately. For more information on 1:1 Life Coaching, contact us today to schedule a discovery call: https://www.blossombehavioralsolutions.com/life-coaching

High achievers are wired to prepare for what could go wrong. It keeps you sharp, but it can also quietly talk you out of trying at all. In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, we take a closer look at the "what ifs" we default to without even realizing it, and how those questions shape whether we go for something or hold back.
It shows up everywhere.
-A giveaway you almost do not enter because "what if I don't win."
-An application you sit on.
-A pitch you second guess.
-An opportunity you talk yourself out of before you even try.
The what if you ask yourself first sets the tone for whether you move or freeze.
This is a shorter episode, built for reflection. We talk about how the mind defaults to the what if that protects us from disappointment, and how that same instinct can quietly become avoidance without us noticing it is happening. You will walk away with a simple practice you can use in any context: notice the what if you are asking yourself, and try asking the opposite one instead. What if it does work out?
If you have ever talked yourself out of something before giving it a real shot, whether it is an opportunity, a decision, or something as small as a giveaway, this episode is for you.
Title options are unchanged. Let me know which one you'd like to lock in, or if you want the descriptions adjusted further. If you are ready to break the "what if" cycle and create a new pattern, schedule a discovery call for 1:1 Coaching

Every business owner reaches a moment when the ground feels unsteady, when decisions pile up and none of the options feel fully right. In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, we sit at that crossroads together and ask the real question: are you going to let the chaos overcome you, or are you going to regulate and move forward?
We talk honestly about what happens when things go "wrong," when a decision you have to make puts two values you hold dear into direct conflict with each other. Maybe it's protecting your team versus protecting your bottom line. Maybe it's staying true to your vision versus responding to what the moment demands. There is no clean answer, and pretending there is only adds more pressure.
A big part of getting unstuck is noticing when your thoughts are the ones controlling you, not the situation itself. The spiraling, the worst case scenarios, the replaying of every option on a loop. We talk about how to catch that moment, regulate, and shift out of a stuck mindset so you can come back to what is actually in your control.
Here's the part we don't say out loud enough: you often have to choose without knowing how it will turn out. You don't get to see the ending before you decide. What you can do is get clear on your goal, get honest about what you value most in this particular moment, and choose the option that actually moves you toward it, rather than the one that just feels safest or quietest.
You'll walk away with a grounded way to think through these moments: how to notice when your thoughts have taken over, how to regulate your nervous system before you make the call, and how to weigh an uncertain choice against what you're actually trying to build, so you can move forward with a decision you can stand behind, even when it's imperfect.
If you're a business owner standing at your own crossroads right now, this episode is for you. You don't have to know how it ends. You just have to keep coming back to what's in your control and keep choosing the path that aligns with where you're headed.Download our After-Hours Nervous System Reset guide for more support on regulating after a long work day. Subscribe to our website for more support!

Can you believe we're already halfway through 2026?
In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, we're taking a mid-year pause to revisit the vision board you created at the start of the year. This is your opportunity to reflect on what's working, celebrate the progress you've made, and honestly assess what may no longer align with the person you're becoming.
Sometimes the goals and dreams we set in January still feel deeply connected to our values and vision. Other times, we realize we've grown, shifted priorities, or simply discovered that certain goals no longer fit the life we're intentionally creating. Both are valuable insights.
Together, we'll explore:
How to reflect on your progress without judgment
Identifying which visions still align and which may need to be released
Recognizing the goals you've been putting off and understanding what's getting in the way
Realigning your vision with your current values and priorities
Creating actionable, realistic steps to build momentum for the remainder of the year
Moving from inspiration into intentional action
Remember, a vision board isn't about perfection. It's about creating awareness, direction, and alignment. The second half of the year offers a fresh opportunity to reconnect with what matters most and take meaningful steps toward making your vision a reality.
Grab your vision board, a journal, and an open mind as we reflect, realign, and intentionally step into the remainder of 2026.

There are so many behaviors women carry shame around that make a lot more sense when viewed through the lens of the nervous system.
Things like procrastinating on the task that matters. Snapping more easily than usual. Withdrawing when you feel overwhelmed. Overthinking everything. Avoiding messages, decisions, or responsibilities. Feeling frozen, then judging yourself for not doing better.
In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, we talk about those patterns with more compassion and less shame. This conversation is for the woman who has been frustrated with herself lately and is tired of assuming that every struggle means she is lazy, failing, too sensitive, or not disciplined enough.
We explore how common stress responses like fight, flight, freeze, and fawn can show up in everyday life, especially in women who are trying to keep functioning at a high level while carrying a lot internally. We also talk about why awareness matters so much. Because once you understand what response you may be moving from, it becomes easier to support yourself instead of attacking yourself.
In this episode, we explore:
Why shutting down, avoiding, or snapping may be nervous system responses rather than character flaws
What fight, flight, freeze, and fawn can look like in real life
How these patterns show up in high-achieving women, business owners, and career-focused women
Why shame keeps these patterns stuck
How to begin responding to yourself with more awareness, regulation, and support
This episode is a compassionate invitation to shift from pathologizing every behavior to listening more closely to what your body may be trying to communicate. Because understanding your patterns is not about excusing them. It is about learning how to work with yourself more honestly and effectively.

In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, Lindsay is joined by Jax Hendrickson, owner of Igneus Self Defense, for a powerful conversation about nervous system regulation, self-defense, boundaries, and reconnecting with your body.
Jax has worked with over 3000 women. She shares her story of forming Igneus Self Defense and how she teaches and approaches self-defense for women.
Together, Lindsay and Jax discuss their upcoming women-only workshop, Connect w/ Your Inner Protector, an experiential event designed to help women better understand their stress responses, practice nervous system regulation, and build confidence through gentle, hands-on self-defense skills.
This conversation explores the connection between fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses and how those protective patterns can show up when we feel activated, overwhelmed, intimidated, or unsure of how to respond. Rather than viewing these responses as something “wrong” with us, this episode offers a compassionate reframe: your body is often trying to protect you.
Jax shares her perspective on self-defense beyond the physical skills, including why self-defense is also about awareness, choice, confidence, boundaries, and learning to trust your body’s signals. Lindsay adds a behavior analytic and nervous system lens to help listeners understand how triggers, private events, past experiences, and protective responses can influence how we react in the moment.
Throughout the episode, Lindsay and Jax discuss why pacing, gentle exposure, and felt safety matter when learning self-defense. This is not about pushing past your limits or forcing yourself to be fearless. It is about building skills in a supportive environment where women can explore what it means to protect their peace, their body, their energy, and their choices.
This episode is for the woman who has ever questioned her response, stayed quiet when she wanted to speak up, apologized when she was uncomfortable, shut down in the moment, or felt disconnected from her own body. It is also for the woman who wants to feel more grounded, confident, and connected to her inner protector.
You will walk away with a deeper understanding of how regulation and self-defense can work together to support self-trust, body awareness, boundaries, and intentional responding.
In this episode, we discuss:
What self-defense means beyond physical techniques
Why nervous system regulation matters when learning self-defense
How fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses can show up in real life
The importance of gentle exposure, pacing, and choice
How self-defense can support confidence and body awareness
What participants can expect from Connect w/ Your Inner Protector
Why protecting yourself is not about being fearless, it is about having options
Whether you are joining us for the event or simply curious about the connection between regulation and self-defense, this episode is an invitation to reconnect with your body, honor your protective responses, and remember that you are allowed to take up space, use your voice, and protect yourself.Connect with Jax: @igneus_self_defense

A lot of people hear the phrase “nervous system regulation” and immediately think of perfect routines, long wellness practices, or things that feel unrealistic in the middle of a busy life.
But real regulation usually looks much simpler than that.
In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, we talk about what regulation actually looks like in everyday life. Not in theory, not in a curated morning routine, but in the moments where you are trying to get through work, make decisions, stay grounded, and show up for yourself without burning out.
This conversation is for the woman who wants more steadiness but does not need more pressure. The one who wants practical support, not a long list of things she “should” be doing. We explore how regulation can show up in small, doable ways throughout your day and why those little moments of support matter more than you might think.
In this episode, we explore:
What nervous system regulation really means in simple terms
Why regulation is not the same thing as being calm all the time
How dysregulation can show up in real life through urgency, procrastination, snapping, numbness, or shutdown
Small, practical ways to support your body during a busy day
Why tiny moments of regulation can improve focus, follow-through, and emotional steadiness
This episode is a grounded reminder that regulation does not have to be perfect, aesthetic, or complicated. It can be woven into the life you already have. And when it is, it becomes a powerful part of how you support yourself while building the life you want.Join the waitlist for online community support: https://www.blossombehavioralsolutions.com/young-adults

Have you ever looked “fine” on the outside while internally your body was telling a completely different story?
In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, Lindsay explores how the version people see is not always the full story. She shares a personal reflection from speaking on a panel while navigating a medical flare, migraine, deep fatigue, and the invisible effort it took to show up when her body was asking for support.
Through a behavior-analytic and nervous system-informed lens, this episode breaks down why observable behavior does not always tell us everything. People may see the smile, the productivity, the engagement, the quietness, the procrastination, or the performance but they may not see the pain, anxiety, sensory overload, burnout, grief, medical symptoms, or survival mode underneath.
Lindsay discusses the role of internal variables and how they can influence capacity, communication, emotional responses, motivation, and the way we move through responsibilities. She also explores masking, especially during seasons where we still have to work, lead, care for others, or show up for meaningful opportunities while internally carrying much more than others realize.
This episode is not about avoiding accountability or excusing behavior. It is about making space for context. When we understand the full picture, we can respond with more honesty, compassion, and care toward ourselves and toward the people around us.
If you have been showing up while carrying a lot internally, this episode is a reminder that you are allowed to be proud of yourself for getting through it and still acknowledge what it took.
In this episode, we explore:
Why observable behavior does not always tell the whole story
How internal variables influence behavior, capacity, and communication
The difference between looking okay and actually feeling okay
Masking, survival mode, and invisible effort
Why context matters when understanding ourselves and others
How to respond with more compassion instead of self-judgment

Sometimes, survival mode does not look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like always being “on.” Always thinking ahead. Always bracing for the next thing. Always staying busy enough that you never fully have to feel how tired you are.
In this episode of The Blossom Mindset™, we talk about what it means to live in a chronic state of stress without always realizing it. This conversation is for the woman who looks functional on the outside but feels wired, overwhelmed, reactive, or exhausted underneath it all. The one who is trying to grow, heal, build, show up, and hold everything together — but whose body still feels like it is stuck in go mode.
We explore how survival mode can quietly become your normal, especially if you are high-achieving, responsible, and used to carrying a lot. We talk about the signs that your nervous system may still be operating from protection instead of peace, and why that matters if you are trying to build a life that feels aligned, sustainable, and genuinely supportive.
In this episode, we explore:
What survival mode can look like in everyday life
Why high-functioning stress often gets normalized
How chronic activation impacts healing, clarity, and consistency
The difference between functioning and actually feeling safe
Why your body may need support before you can truly settle into growth
This episode is a compassionate reminder that you are not weak for feeling tired, stuck, or dysregulated. You may simply be trying to heal while your body still feels like it has to stay on alert. And that awareness can be the beginning of a very different way forward.Contact us for 1:1 Coaching: https://www.blossombehavioralsolutions.com/contactFollow us on socials: @themindfulbehaviorist @blossombehavioralsolutions
